The column chart illustrates the average housework hours per week by married women in comparison with married men.

As seen in the chart, there is the distinctive difference in the average hours of housework in households. In childless families, the gap of housework hours per week between men and women is not largely. Women do some 30 hours per week, meanwhile men’s contribution in housework is about 20 hours.

In families of one or two children, however, the number of men’s housework hours decreases to 15 hours, but women’s number of housework rises even to 50. Undoubtedly the cause of this rise is due to childcare.

And amazingly in households with three or more children, the inequality becomes more distinct. Men work fewer hours than about 10 hours, but women's housework hours rise to 55 per week.

The chart shows that the inequality in housework between husband and wife should be resolved. It is important that women should be liberated from the unreasonable burden of familial responsibilities. And to get the target, men should do their share of housemaking.

Biểu đồ cột minh hoạ số giờ làm việc trung bình mỗi tuần của phụ nữ đã lập gia đình so với nam giới kết hôn.

Như được thấy trong biểu đồ, có sự khác biệt đặc biệt về số giờ làm việc nhà bình quân trong các hộ gia đình. Trong các gia đình không có con, thời gian cách biệt làm việc nhà hàng tuần giữa đàn ông và đàn bà không lớn. Phụ nữ làm khoảng 30 giờ mỗi tuần, trong khi đó nam giới đóng góp công việc nhà khoảng 20 giờ.  

Tuy nhiên, trong gia đình của một hoặc hai trẻ em, số giờ làm việc của nam giới giảm xuống còn 15 giờ, nhưng số giờ của phụ nữ tăng lên đến 50. Không còn nghi ngờ gì khi nguyên nhân của việc tăng này là cho việc chăm sóc trẻ con.

Và đáng kinh ngạc ở các hộ gia đình có từ ba trẻ em trở lên, bất bình đẳng trở nên khác biệt nhiều hơn. Nam giới làm việc ít hơn 10 tiếng đồng hồ, nhưng giờ làm việc của phụ nữ tăng lên 55 mỗi tuần.  

Biểu đồ cho thấy sự bất bình đẳng trong công việc nhà giữa chồng và vợ nên được giải quyết. Điều quan trọng là phụ nữ nên được giải phóng khỏi gánh nặng không hợp lý của trách nhiệm gia đình. Và để có được mục tiêu, đàn ông nên chia sẻ cả việc nhà.
