How the tiger got his stripes

Con hổ muốn biết tại sao con trâu to khoẻ thế mà lại làm đầy tớ, trong lúc người đàn ông bé nhỏ kia lại làm ông chủ. Người nông dân nói ông có trí khôn nhưng hôm đó ông đã để quên nó ở nhà. Ông đi lấy trí khôn về, nhưng trước khi đi ông lấy dây thừng trói con hổ vào một gốc cây vì ông không muốn con hổ ăn con trâu của ông. Khi quay trở lại, người nông dân mang theo một ít rơm. Ông nói đó là trí khôn của mình. Ông châm lửa đốt con hổ. Con hổ trốn thoát, nhưng nó vẫn mang những vằn đen do những vết cháy ấy cho đến bây giờ.
