A narrative

14^th July 1995 is a day I shall never forget. On that day, I stared death in the face.

Our flight was due to leave at 11 a.m., and I arrived at the airport quite early. We got on the plane at 10:30 and the plane took off on time. The air-hostesses were just beginning to serve our lunch when the plane began to shake. 

At first, we thought we were flying in bad weather. We were told to stay seated and fasten our seat belts. Then suddenly the plane seemed to dip. We realised we were in danger. Many people screamed in panic. We all thought we had only minutes to live.

Then, just when we had given up all hope, we felt the plane slowly gained height. A few minutes later the pilot announced that everything was all right. We were all overjoyed and relieved. One hour later we landed safely. It was the most frightening experience of my life.

Ngày 14/7/1945 là một ngày tôi sẽ không bao giờ quên. Vào ngày đó, tôi đối mặt với tử thần.

Chuyến bay của chúng tôi theo kế hoạch sẽ khởi hành lúc 11 giờ sáng, tôi đến sân bay rất sớm. Chúng tôi lên máy bay lúc 10.30 và máy bay cất cánh đúng giờ. Các cô tiếp viên vừa bắt đầu phục vụ bữa trưa thì máy bay bắt đầu chao đảo.

Thoạt đầu chúng tôi tưởng mình đang bay trong thời tiết xấu. Chúng tôi được yêu cầu ngồi yên và thắt dây an toàn. Thình lình máy bay hình như lao xuống. Chúng tôi nhận thấy mình đang gặp nguy hiểm. Nhiều người kêu thét lên hoảng sợ. Tất cả chúng tôi đều nghĩ rằng mình chỉ còn sống vài phút nữa thôi.

Last year, I spent my summer holidays in a seaside town. The hotel was modern and comfortable. I had a wonderful holiday until the fire.

It was Saturday evening and everybody was in the discotheque on the ground floor. It was crowded with people. They were dancing and singing happily. Suddenly, we smelt smoke. Then the black smoke began to fill up the room. Everybody began to scream in panic. People ran towards the fire exits. One door was blocked. Many people began to cough and choke.

Then, just as we all thought we had only minutes to live, the fire brigade arrived. Firemen fought their way into the room, and soon, everyone was safely out of the building. Luckily, nobody was seriously hurt. It was the most frightening experience of my life.

A. Indeed, all the stories above are saying why the trip is so memorial one for me.

B. I can never forget the trip with my friend to islands in the Southern Sea in the summer two years ago.

C. Especially, catching various sea creatures, including sea urchin, small fish, conches, was the most extraordinary experience during the trip.

D. Next, the experiences at the islands we visited were really fantastic! The first place was Nam-Hae Do, where we ate delicious foods and walked around the sea shores, and visited some famous spots. Then we moved to Geo-Jae Do, where my friend’s hometown is. We rested at his house and swam in the sea.

E. Lastly, the trip was so special, for it was the last time until now in my university life to travel somewhere with my friend just for freedom. Because of my health condition, I couldn’t plan any more personal trip after then.

F. Firstly, what made our journey memorial is the time we spent on the bus talking about each other’s life. He and I came to know more deeply about each other, which made our friendship grow more.
